Motor Vehicle Tinting

Tinting your car to counteract annoying glare, or simply to look cool? At Blue Whale Window Tinting we’ve got you covered with a wide range of top quality products in differing degrees of tints that we can install for you. In just half a day you’ll be back on the road sheltered from the worst effects of the sun and enjoying the view from behind your newly-tinted windows.

However, if you’re thinking of going dark with your tinting you should know that safe driving requires you to have the best possible vision of other road users. Any reduction in driver visibility particularly in poor light conditions will lead to a reduction in safety. Therefore Tasmanian law currently says that the light transmittance of windows on a motor vehicle is not reduced below 35%. Visual Light Transmittance (VLT) is the measure of the amount of light that passes through glass, 35% VLT means 35% of the visible light passes through the glass and the rest of the light is blocked.
